In a recent interview with the daily Tribune, indigenous singer 9ice revealed that he was going back to University to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer.
The singer’s career had been downhill following the huge success of his first album, Gongo Aso.
9ice told the paper that he is presently a student of Capella University, Minnesota, USA, studying Public Safety and Common Law. He however stated that he is running the school’s online programme.
According to him, “I am already in school studying Public Safety and Common Law at Capella University. It is an online programme. I can’t think of any other course except Law.”
The singer reportedly left the Lagos State University (LASU) in 2006, where he was then studying Law. It was at that time he gained fame with hit his hit song, ‘Ganja’ and later with ‘Gongo Aso’.

Bale, 24, joined the Spanish club on Sept. 1 in a world record transfer after months of speculation.

Zidane, who is now Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant coach at Real, joined the nine-time European champions in 2001 for a then record fee. He felt at the time that fee was over the top and cannot comprehend the money involved in Bale’s move.

“Ten years ago I was bought for €75m  ($98.69m) and I said I was not worth this,” Zidane told French TV channel Canal Plus.

“Now I would think that a player is not worth this. It’s football, unfortunately it’s incomprehensible with what is happening to pay so much.”

Tokyo Wins the Hosting Right for the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) members, sitting in Buenos Aires, on Saturday, awarded the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games to Tokyo ahead of Istanbul and Madrid, at its 125 session.

Tokyo Wins the Race for the 2020 Olympic Games.

The capital City of Japan won a final round of voting by beating Istanbul by 60 votes to 36. Madrid had earlier been eliminated in the first-round ballot.
The news was met with jubilant scenes in Japan, while the Tokyo delegation at the venue jumped to their feet in celebration, waving the Japanese nation’s flag.
“I would like to thank everyone in the Olympic Movement and we will host a wonderful Olympic Games,” an elated Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe, said after the announcement.
Tokyo will be hosting the event for the first time since 1964 and, also following two years of lobbying.
They also becomes the first Asian City to host the Games twice after winning the hosting bid in 1940 but failed to commence due to the Second World War.

The success of Tokyo’s bid followed a personal address from the Japanese Prime Minister during the presentation stage, with a campaign message: “The Olympics will be safe in our hands,” as a medium of allaying fears over the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant 150 miles (240km) from the city.

Japan’s Bidding Contingents Celebrates.

According to the Prime Minister’s message, sponsorship for the 2020 Games will reach a record level and 10 new permanent sports venues would be constructed, including the Olympic Stadium, which will be finished by 2019.
Istanbul’s bid was hampered by the conflict in neighbouring Syria and serious political unrest in the country, a series of doping scandals among the country’s athletes and the jailing of political opponents and journalists.
The ongoing worries about the economy in the Spanish capital and the recent Operation Puerto doping scandal undermined their bid.

Nollywood Stars Shuns Bob Manuel's Mother's Burial...

Nollywood actor Bob Manuel Udokwu laid his mother to rest on Friday, August 30, 2013 and some have expressed their disappointment at the absence of other nollywood stars at the event.

According to eyewitness, the family and members of the community from which the actor turned politicians hails expected to see some of the stars that usually grace their screens, only to be disappointed as Nollywood actors and reps were hardly represented at the burial.

"Everybody was hoping for a large turnout of Nollywood stars, the likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic and so on, but we were all disappointed that only the not so popular actors turned up for the burial and that was very sad and disappointing’ Charles Inojie, Ejikeh Metuselah and Steve Eboh are a few of the Nollywood actors that made it to the burial, which took place in Nkwelle-Ogidi, Anambra State".

Some have said that Bob has never attended any event by his colleagues, that He has a way of avoiding other people's events and this was more like a pay back time for him. Some attributed it to arrogance, while others said said it is his stingy nature.
